Kochi: Joyalukkas Foundation distributed medical assistance to cancer patients from economically disadvantaged families to help them access essential medicines. Through the initiative, assistance is being provided to 1,500 patients across the state. 
The medical assistance for 150 patients in Ernakulam district was distributed by Hibi Eden MP. The event was presided by Corporate Mayor Minimol V.K. 
Dr. Satheesh K. N. Medical Superintendent, Government Hospital, Ernakulam, George T. A. and Ribin Paul, Senior Officers, Joyalukkas Foundation, Jason T. S., Regional Manager, and Kiran Mathew, Branch Manager, Ernakulam were present at the event.
The programme was implemented as part of the Foundation’s ongoing CSR initiatives with a total expenditure of ₹3 crore. 
Established in 2009, the Joyalukkas Foundation aims to bring marginalised communities into the mainstream and haas carried out numerous philanthropic initiatives across the country. 
In addition to financial support for dialysis patients, free pacemakers for heart patients, and other medical assistance programmes, the Foundation has constructed more than 550 Joy Homes across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. It has also awarded the ‘Joy of Hope’ scholarships to many students. 
The Foundation has also conducted women’s entrepreneurship empowerment classes and environmental initiatives under ‘Joy for Earth’. It has extended support to people affected by disasters, including floods, the COVID-19 pandemic, and landslides in the state.
