JD Institute of Fashion Technology announces the theme for ‘The Fashion Awards 2019’

New Delhi, December 26, 2018: JD Institute of Fashion Technology, one of the country’s leading design institutions today declared ‘SWITCH’ as the theme for their Annual Fashion Awards 2019. ‘SWITCH’ signifies a shift from the existing perceptions and moving beyond what is visible, traditional, usual or a set norm and exploring the world of unknown and unexplored. It is to evoke a sense of freshness among the designers pushing them to create something extraordinary. The theme is a result of rigorous research and brainstorming sessions between the students, faculties and the management who examine various trends, challenges and evolving face of fashion to arrive at a theme every year. In the past, themes for The Fashion Awards focused on sustainable fashion, inculcating purity in the designs, addressing the issue of plagiarism in the fashion industry etc. On the occasion, Ms Rupal Dalal, Executive Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology said, “We are thrilled and extremely excited to announce the theme for fashion awards 2019. Over the years of successful fashion awards organised by us, today – we take pride in providing the students with the best possible opportunities that allow them to showcase their talent in front of the industry experts”. Noticing the good work put by JD institute students for various fashion shows, even Bollywood stars came forward to praise the young talent of the institute. Star cast of the movie ZERO- Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma who were in the city for their film promotion also met up with the management of JD institute and congratulated them for the successful announcement of theme for annual fashion awards 2019 and wished the students good luck.
