Jashn-e-Hasrat on birth centenary of eminent poet and lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri

Ludhiana, April 13, 2022: RK Ghazal Time announced its 2 days Jashn-e-Hasrat festival to celebrate the poetry of the legendary poet and film lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri on 14th & 15th April. Hasrat Jaipuri was born on 15 April 1922 and it will be his 100th birthday. Hasrat Jaipuri was known for his long association with the famous film maker and actor Raj Kapoor as he wrote for his films invariably. 

Akhtar Hasrat Jaipuri, the son of the legendary poet and his wife Azra Akhtar Jaipuri are the special guests from Mumbai on the occasion. 

Informing this, Randhir Kanwal of RK Ghazal Time and ghazal singer himself, said it is always the effort of RK Ghazal Time to promote good and meaningful poetry and music. He added that functions on eminent poets and musicians besides leading film personalities, are held regularly by RK Ghazal Time.  He emphasized that it is a matter of pride for the city that the centenary year celebrations of the famous lyricist is going to kick start from Ludhiana.  

While on 14th April 2022, a Ru-B-Ru will be held with Akhtar Hasrat Jaipuri on the life and works of his father Hasrat Jaipuri, it will be followed by a musical show Jane Kahan Gaye Woh Din…, based on the golden era of Hindustani film music of which Hasrat Jaipuri was a key lyricist. On 14th April, the venue of the programme is Punjabi Bhawan Ludhiana. 

On 15th April 2022 Tum Mujhe Yun Bhula Na Paoge …an exclusive programme on songs of Hasrat Jaipuri will be held at Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, Ludhiana.  A large number of members of the RK Ghazal Time are expected to participate and sing the songs written by Hasrat Jaipuri who was known as the King of Romance among his contemporaries. The start time of the programme on both days is 6 pm.
