Kabaddi players in action in the 4-day Jarkhar Sports Festival that concluded at the Mata Sahib Kaur Stadium at Jarkhar, near Ludhiana, on Thursday.
Ludhiana, January 17, 2013:BSF defeated ITBF by 3-1 in the hockey senior boys’ category in the 4-day Jarkhar Sports Festival that concluded at the Mata Sahib Kaur Stadium at Jarkhar, near here, on Thursday, and win the title.
In the girls’ category (Hockey), Shahbad Markanda beat Government College for Women by 16-5.
In Handball Boys’, Ludhiana won title by defeating Faridkot, 24-15. In girls’ category Ropar beat Ludhiana, 17-7.
In basketball boys’ category, Ludhiana Academy beat Ludhiana District, 79-64. In girls’ category, Government College for Women beat Jalandhar, 62-45.
In Kabaddi, Lasada Kabaddi team won the title. It defeated Kalsian, 24-18.
Exhibition kabaddi matches were played between Kenya and Dashmesh Club in the afternoon.
Former Punjab Minister Hira Singh Gabria gave away the prizes to the winners.
Prizes worth more than Rs. 10 lakh were given away to the winners.
A cultural programme was also held. Among others, Punjabi singer and actor, Daljit Dosanjh performed on the stage.
