Jalandhar wins U-19 Women PCA Inter- District Title

Mohali/Chandigarh, September 2, 2021: In the finals of the Women under 19 played today Jalandhar defeated Patiala by 5 wickets through the VJD Method because of the rain intervention. The match was reduced to 45 overs with a target of 152 runs.
Earlier in the day Winning the toss Patiala opted to bat and made 163 for 8 in 50 overs.  Their innings was bolstered by Himani Saini 27 off 87 balls, Mannat Kashyap 35 off 41 balls with 6 boundaries.  The bowling honours for Jalandhar were shared by Gulnaaj   3 for 54 and Pryanka Mutreja  3 for 24. 

Replying, Jalandhar scored 152 for 5 in 33.1 overs to record five wickets win.  Pryanka Mutreja remained unbeaten on 49 off 65 balls with 5 boundaries and Khush Naval 27 off 22 balls with 6 boundaries were the main run getters.  For Patiala, Shruti Tiwari 2 for 33 was the most successful bowler. 

The members of the Women Selection Committee along with Member CAC Ms. Harpreet Kaur and Apex council member Ms. Madhu Kapoor gave away the winner’s trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- to the Jalandhar Team while Patiala the runners up were given a cash prize of Rs.25,000/-
