Jalandhar students attend seminar on trends in health and nutrition 

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya flagged off women's day celebration with a one day seminar on Trends in Health & Nutrition in collaboration with district civil administration. 
The seminar was a joint effort of Department of Student Welfare, Department of Zoology, Women's Studies Centre, NSS volunteers & NCC cadets. The prominent guests for the day were Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla, District Civil Surgeon, Mr Amarjeet Singh Bhullar, District Program Officer, Dr Arpana Chodha, Dr Kamaljeet Kaur & Dr Satish Kumar. Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla in her address averred that the KMV have played a very pivotal role in women education and empowerment. KMV has always been at the forefront in creating awareness in the society regarding the various social issues. 
Dr Arpana Chodha & Dr Kamaljeet Kaur addressed the young audience and the college faculty about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and be aware about personal hygiene in order to live a fulfilling life. The audience was also told to take care of their environment and keep it balanced and pollution free. Another very important topic on which the young audience was educated was the worldwide scare of Corona virus spread in almost 72 countries across the globe. Dr Satish Kumar told about how the virus spread, what was the actually the damage virus could do once it infected a human being and its preventive measures. 
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such type of interactions should happen more often they are vital for social health. She further maintained that KMV have always been a leader in making the society aware about various social problems. 
Principal also lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare, Dr Sadhna Tandon, Head, Department of Zoology & In charges of NSS and NCC Departments of the college.
