Jalandhar News/Declining female in society is matter of great concern-Dr.Joginder Puar

Jalandhar, November 23, 2013: Alfa Mahendru Foundation today organised a function “Save Girl Child” at Fenton Ganj Girls Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar City .

School Principal Meenakshi Bhardwaj welcomed the guests. Punjab University Former Vice Chancellor Dr Joginder Puar said while addressing the students that social evils, social concepts are responsible for declining number of girls. Female Foetcide are the issues that needs immediate attention in the coming days, as in the present arena females are holding top position in I.A.S. and in Allied Services and even in the Army today .

The Chief Guest Dr Deepali Luthra focused on the `Save Girl Child’ and said it is the need of time and in the present scenario bringing awareness among the masses through mass contact programme is also the need of time .

Dr Madhumeet said that it is the time that awareness among the females along with literacy drive should be our point of view.

 Alfa Mahendru Foundation Project Director Rakesh Shantidoot said that the Girls are the future of the nation and to keep the future intact and keep the ratio of the gender accurate the `Save Girl Child’ project is carrying out awareness drive among children and in future keep the mass contact programmes intact in coming future .

The poem competition was organised in which 16 students participated and Simran won the first position , Shurti second , Palak Third , and Himmani were honored.

Other present were Amita Verma , Suriender Mahendru , Ravi Laroia, Harsh Mahendru, Parteek Mahendru and Jaswinder Singh Dheera.
