The Kapurthala-Basti Peerdad and Baste Guzan is in pathetic condition. Interestingly, this area comes under the assembly constituency of Punjab Minister for Local Bodies Bhagat Chuni Lal. Commuters are suffering because of the pathetic condition of the road. Residents of the areas concerned have demanded from Bhagat Chuni Lal and Mayor Jalandhar Sunil Jyoti to immediately intervene and get the roads repaired.

PWD (B&R) Department of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar has started filling of potholes on Kapurthala road. But, the road gets damaged after a short period. There is a need that the roads should be repaired atleast for a fixed duration. Responsibility should be fixed of contractor/s.

Another road from PAP Chowk to BSF Chowk is in worst condition. Potholes on this road were filled with mud to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic. As a result, the road now becomes dusty one, polluting the whole environment in the surroundings.
