Senior AAP leader Jagtar Singh Gill Rattanheri officially took charge as the chairman of the Khanna Market Committee on Wednesday, in a ceremony attended by Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond.

Khanna (Ludhiana), April 23, 2025: Senior AAP leader Jagtar Singh Gill Rattanheri officially took charge as the chairman of the Khanna Market Committee on Wednesday, in a ceremony attended by Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond.

The event also attended by Punjab GENCO Board Chairman Navjot Singh Jarg, Patiala District Planning Board Chairman Jassi Sohian, former MLA Gurpreet Singh GP, and other AAP office-bearers and volunteers.

During a media briefing, Minister Sond stated that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is ensuring that payments to farmers for wheat procurement are made within 24 hours, eliminating any delays in the lifting of crops. He mentioned that the Punjab government has secured a cash credit limit of Rs 28,894 crores to facilitate seamless payments. “Farmers will face no issues as all necessary facilities and preparations have been made,” he assured. 

Sond also highlighted the fulfilment of election promises, noting that providing 600 units of free electricity has led to zero electricity bills for 90% of consumers. The Punjab government has also provided over 56,000 government jobs on merit. He further emphasized the government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across Punjab to provide advanced treatment and diagnostic services, stating that continuous efforts are underway to equip government hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities for optimal healthcare services for residents. He extended his congratulations and expressed confidence that the newly appointed chairman would deliver transparent services at the Khanna Market Committee.

In response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Sond condemned the act as inhumane and cruel, expressing solidarity with the victims. He led a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the deceased tourists.

Upon assuming his role as Chairman of the Khanna Market Committee, Jagtar Singh Gill Rattanheri expressed his gratitude to the government for entrusting this responsibility to a humble worker. He pledged to perform his duties with utmost honesty and dedication, ensuring transparency and accountability in serving the public.
