Ropar/Jalandhar/Hoshiapur, September 2, 2013: Joint Action Committee of Engineers of Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation leader Er Jaspal Singh Billing has said if their demand is not implemented by September 3 then all the engineering staff  of the Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation will go on a one day mass leave on September 4.
In a statement here today, he added they would also stage a demonstration at division-level of the PWRMDC on September 4. He said they demanded that the Court’s verdict in regard to the scrapping of deputation be implemented forthwith.
He further said a deputation of the engineers had already given a memorandum to Gurdev Singh Syan, Managing Director, Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation on August 30 this year to implement the verdict of the Court with regard to scraping of the deputation and sending the employees on deputation to their parent body. He added the memorandum was signed besides him by the engineers S.K. Goal, D.K. Garg, A.K. Khanna, Som Chand Bansal , Kulwant Singh, R.K. Singla, Nirmal Singh, P.K. Garg, S.S. Rajput, Hans Raj, Jaspal Saini and Parmjit Singh.   
Meanwhile, Diploma Engineers Association of Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation General Secretary Jaspal Singh Saini has said that the Diploma Engineers Association had met the Principal  Secretary Irrigation Punjab Government on July 20 this year and brought to the notice that the Department was named earlier Punjab State Tubewell Corporation Ltd which was brought into existence in 1970 and the Corporation played a positive and dynamic role in achieving the ultimate goal of Green Revolution in Kandi Area. He said that in the Corporation some posts were reserved for the Punjab Irrigation Department on deputation. In the past in various Corporations such as PUDA, Mandi Board, Marketing Board, Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board and other Boards and Corporation the deputation has been scrapped of but in Punjab Water Resources Management Development Corporation the criteria of Deputation still exists. He said that the Court has already announced the verdict on May 24 this year and scraped the Deputation criteria in PWRMDC. He said with this action the employees who have served for more than 35 years will be entitled for promotion. He also demanded regular pension for the employees of PWRMDC. He said that they demanded that the retirement age of the employees should be as increased in other government departments.
