Striking a chord with homemakers across India, COLORS' 'Mangal Lakshmi' has become a household favorite in no time. The show beautifully illustrates the journey of two sisters as they navigate their lives and strive to earn respect for each other in their relationships. According to the storyline, Mangal (portrayed by Deepika Singh) is depicted as supporting her sister Lakshmi (played by Sanika Amit) wholeheartedly. She takes care of Lakshmi as if she were her child and endeavors to find a groom who will cherish and respect her, something Mangal herself didn't experience in her marriage. Sanika reveals that the bond between herself and Deepika mirrors that of Mangal and Lakshmi. She shares her learnings gained from Deepika's experience in acting and recounts instances where Deepika has assisted her during certain shoot scenes.  She sometimes brings home-cooked food and makes me feel homely on the sets.

Sanika Amit, portraying the role of Lakshmi in COLORS’ ‘Mangal Lakshmi,’ shares, "I've always been the elder sister at home, this show gives me a chance to be the younger one! Through COLORS' 'Mangal Lakshmi,' the desire is being fulfilled in ways I never imagined possible. Working with Deepika Singh (my Mangal didi) is amazing. Also, it’s fun to shoot with Kartik, Adit and Jia. This show is more than just entertainment; it's an emotion for me. Not just a sisterly bond but also the detective side of me that I get to explore in the show is fun ! and the same is visible through our on-screen performances. I hope viewers keep showering their love as they have been doing so far for the show."

In the current storyline, while Lakshmi is talking to her potential husband, Kartik interrupts, revealing there's someone special in Lakshmi's life, making her anxious. As preparations for Lakshmi's engagement are underway, Mangal learns the boy has backed out, leaving both the sisters and their family stunned. Meanwhile, Lakshmi is shocked to find her photos with Nithin have been morphed, leading to her engagement being called off. Later, furious Mangal vows to clear Lakshmi's name. Will Mangal succeed in proving Lakshmi's innocence?
