Issue Raised in Lok Sabha- BJP also failed to dismantle the nexus between terrorists and gangsters: Sukhjinder Randhawa

Chandigarh, April 2, 2026: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa strongly condemned the bomb attack on the BJP office in Punjab. He alleged that both the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party have failed to prevent such incidents in the state.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha session today, he expressed concern over these incidents in Punjab and demanded the enactment of strict laws specifically aimed at eliminating the nexus between terrorists and gangsters in the state.
Randhawa stated that Punjab is a border state, and through this border, weapons, ammunition, and drugs are continuously being smuggled into Punjab from Pakistan via drones. He said that neither the Aam Aadmi Party is showing seriousness in tackling this issue nor is the central government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party taking significant action. He added that around 50 kilometers of the Punjab–Pakistan border is under the jurisdiction of the Border Security Force, making the central government directly responsible, as the BSF has been unable to stop drones crossing the border.
In the Lok Sabha, he further stated that gangsters in Punjab are continuously carrying out killings through shootings, and terrorist incidents are on the rise. During the four-year tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party, there have been 10 terrorist attacks on police stations. A day before the bomb blast at the BJP office in Chandigarh, a police station in Bhindi Saida, Amritsar district, was attacked. Additionally, a few days ago in Gurdaspur, two police personnel were killed, and the incident was linked to the Inter-Services Intelligence. He claimed that Punjab Police has been unable to prevent these attacks.
Randhawa said that Punjab had already suffered from terrorism years ago, and in recent years, during the tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party, the law-and-order situation has deteriorated continuously. He held the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann fully responsible for the collapse of law and order. He urged the central government to introduce a separate, stringent law specifically for Punjab.
