Is Kabul’s impending doom already here or will SimSim fail in her mission in Sony SAB’s Dastaan-e-Kabul

Sony SAB’s magnum opus Alibaba Dastaan-e-Kabul, inspired by the popular folk tale Alibaba and forty thieves, launched last week and has already grabbed the audience's interest. It’s not only the grandeur and aesthetics of the show that makes it a crowd pleaser but also the intriguing plot twists it has started delivering.

At the start of the show, we've witnessed Alibaba's wholesome bond with his children and his willingness to go to any length to ensure their happiness and bright futures. Ali, however, has a lot more on his plate, with Zorawar wanting to steal his business and SimSim's desire to free Iblis, which hovers over Ali's and the entire Kabul's fate like a dark cloud. SimSim is willing to put everything on the line in the forthcoming track to free Iblis and his gang of 40 thieves. The only way she can accomplish this is by the occurrence of Darar-e-Khala and she decides to use all of her powers to create a magical disc that will serve as her weapon in this quest.

Will SimSim succeed in accomplishing Darar-e-Khala? What will be the consequences of this impending doom?

Sayantani Ghosh, who plays Simsim remarks, “SimSim has been waiting for many decades and made many attempts to break Mustafa’s spell and free Iblis and his gang of thieves. She is ready to put everything at stake for those she holds close to her heart, even if it means she has to hurt others in her quest. SimSim is very unique and although she is a villain, she has depth to her personality, she is led by her emotions, unlike the stone cold villains we see on screen. Her actions are going to throw a lot of curveballs at the audience, so be ready for an epic rollercoaster ride!”
