IPPAMTA Formally Launched at All-India Symposium in Patna
“National Platform for Printing, Photography & Multimedia Technologists Takes Shape”
The Integrated Printing, Photography & Multimedia Technologists’ Association (IPPAMTA) was officially launched today at the historic All-India Symposium held at Government Polytechnic, Gulzarbagh, Patna. The event marked the birth of a unified national platform dedicated to professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, and students in the fields of printing, photography, and multimedia technology. In the Delegate Session, Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra was unanimously elected as the Founding President of IPPAMTA. Prof. Diptendu Choudhury was elected Working President, and Soumitra Majumdar was elected General Secretary.
The symposium, organised under the guidance of the IPPAMTA Preparatory Committee, witnessed enthusiastic participation from technologists across the country. Chief Guest Dr. Chandra Shekhar Singh, Secretary, State Board of Technical Education, Government of Bihar, lauded the initiative and stated, “This association will be a gamechanger for technical education in Bihar and the entire country. I assure full support from the State Board to strengthen skill development and industry linkages in printing and allied sectors.”
Delivering his chairman’s address and speaking on “Skill Upgradation, Employability & Youth Empowerment,” Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra declared: “IPPAMTA will serve as a powerful national platform that bridges the gap between diploma holders and degree-level opportunities, upgrades skills, and empowers the youth to meet the demands of modern printing, photography, and multimedia industries. Our mission is to uplift every technologist and elevate these sectors to new heights of excellence.”
Prof. Diptendu Choudhury, Joint Convener of the Preparatory Committee, in his session on “Building a Unified National Platform,” emphasised: “Today we lay the foundation of a single, strong voice for all printing, photography, and multimedia technologists of India. This platform will standardise training, promote research, and foster seamless industry-academia collaboration.”
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address by Soumitra Majumdar, Joint Convener of the IPPAMTA Preparatory Committee. Highlights included inaugural addresses, the official unveiling of the IPPAMTA logo by the Chief Guest and Chairman, and expert sessions on emerging technologies, sustainable practices, and youth empowerment. The symposium concluded with the adoption of by-laws, formation of the Ad-hoc Executive Committee, and a vote of thanks by the newly elected President.
IPPAMTA has evolved from the pioneering multidisciplinary model of RIPT Kolkata — India’s only institute offering integrated courses in printing, photography, and multimedia. The vision was nurtured by Soumitra Majumdar, Prof. Diptendu Choudhury (former Principal, RIPT), and dedicated faculty, and later expanded nationwide under the visionary leadership of Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra.
