Chandigarh, October 16, 2025: Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, witnessed a proud moment as the Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected Student Council was held with great enthusiasm and fervour. The event marked the formal induction of young leaders who pledged to uphold the values of the institution and serve with dedication during the ongoing academic session.
Siya was elected as the President, Anshika Sharma as the Vice-President and Harnoor Kaur as the Secretary-cum-Treasurer. The council also comprises representatives from various departments, including class representatives for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, along with incharges for NSS, NCC, Sports, Environment, Press and Literary Activities, Placement and Cultural Affairs.
The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking session wherein the council members pledged to uphold the principles of integrity, discipline and morality while working earnestly towards the betterment of the college community. The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of responsibility and motivation as the newly appointed council embarked on their leadership journey with zeal and commitment.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the College, congratulated the newly elected council members and shared her inspiring thoughts on leadership. She emphasized that true leaders embody humility, responsibility and the ability to inspire others and encouraged the students to lead by example and contribute positively to the institution’s legacy.
