The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and dignity, formally inducted young leaders who pledged to uphold the values of the institution and serve the college community with dedication throughout the academic session 2026-27.

Chandigarh, September 22, 2026: Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, celebrated a proud moment with the Investiture Ceremony of its newly elected Student Council on September 19. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and dignity, formally inducted young leaders who pledged to uphold the values of the institution and serve the college community with dedication throughout the academic session 2026-27.
Deepanjyot was elected President, Vaidehi Vice-President and Vanisha Secretary-cum-Treasurer. The council also includes representatives from various departments, class representatives of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and student in-charges for NSS, NCC, Sports, Environment, Press and Literary Activities, Placement and Cultural Affairs.
The highlight of the ceremony was the solemn oath-taking, during which the council members vowed to uphold integrity, discipline and moral values while working earnestly for the betterment of the college. The occasion left the newly appointed leaders with a renewed sense of responsibility and motivation as they embarked on their leadership journey.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the College, congratulated the elected members and shared inspiring reflections on leadership. She emphasised that true leaders embody humility, a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to inspire others, urging the students to lead by example and contribute meaningfully to the institution’s proud legacy.
