Invest in Peace Every Day to Build a Secure Future: Sanyam Yadav

Chandigarh, September 23, 2026: Speaking on World Peace Day at Rotary Club, Sector 18, Chandigarh, young thinker Sanyam Yadav said that peace is not merely the absence of war or conflict, but the presence of justice, equality, dignity and mutual respect. He said peace begins with the individual and extends through the family, society and nation to the entire world.
Speaking on the theme “Invest in Peace,” Yadav referred to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s belief that when the heart is filled with righteousness and truth, peace prevails in the world. He said investing in peace does not mean merely contributing money, but creating conditions based on cooperation, understanding and human welfare.
Yadav described ego as a major obstacle on the path to peace and appealed to people to embrace humility. He stressed the need to make truth, fairness, harmony and concern for others the foundation of daily life.
He also highlighted the need for reforms in the United Nations Security Council and called for water, energy, food and cyber security to be treated as global priorities. Yadav said peace should be recognised as the fourth “P” alongside people, planet and profit. Recalling the message of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” he said peace is not a destination but a process that must be practised every day.
