International Women’s Day Celebrated with Athletics Events at Guru Nanak Stadium 

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, MY Bharat Ludhiana, in collaboration with the District Sports Department, Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Khelo India – ASMITA League, organised athletics events for women and girls at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, March 8, 2026: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, MY Bharat Ludhiana, in collaboration with the District Sports Department, Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Khelo India – ASMITA League, organised athletics events for women and girls at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from women and girls across Ludhiana. Various competitions including 100 metres, 200 metres and 400 metres races, along with fun sports activities, were organised to encourage women’s participation in sports and promote fitness and empowerment.
The programme was graced by Prem Singh, an international athlete who has represented India in numerous international events, as the Chief Guest, while Charanjit Kaur, Asian Games medalist, attended the event as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of MY Bharat and the sports department in promoting sports among women and girls.
Competitions were held in different age categories including Under 13 years, 13–18 years and 18 years and above.
All participants were provided certificates and refreshments, while medals were awarded to the winners. The event concluded with great enthusiasm, celebrating women’s strength, sportsmanship and empowerment through sports.
