Chandigarh, March 3, 2023: The Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology in collaboration with the Department of Education, Panjab University celebrated International Women’s Day by organizing a talk and Interactive Session with Pam Rajput, Professor Emeritus and Founder of Department cum Centre for Women’s Studies and Development, Panjab University.  

The Chairperson of Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology,  Paru Bal Sidhu welcomed the speaker. Professor Rajput has been engaged in the Women’s movement for the past five decades and she brought to this forum her rich experience of working for Gender Equality from the grass root level.  Her engagement with numerous National and International Organizations like the United Nations in bringing reforms related to women’s issues were given us examples  to emphasize the role each one of us can play towards setting up a Gender-Just Society.  

Prof. Pam Rajput’s interaction was very inspiring and encouraged students and faculty to take to the path of social activism.
