International Women Day celebrated in Doaba College 

Jalandhar, March 11, 2022: Women Empowerment Cell and NSS Wing, Doaba College Jalandhar celebrated International Women’s Day on theme “Break The Bias”. Ms. Gurinderjit Kaur, Principal, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden, Jalandhar was invited as the chief guest.

Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Coordinator NSS wing Dr. Arshdeep Singh and Prof. Paramjit Kaur (Acting Coordinator of Women Empowerment Cell)  welcomed the chief guest Ms. Gurinderjit Kaur with sapling. The event began with lighting the knowledge lamp in front of goddess Saraswati.

Dr. Pardeep Bhandari addressed women as the creator of the universe and highlighted their unprecedented contribution in making this society a suitable place for each and every individual.

Ms. Gurinderjit Kaur encouraged female students to listen to the inner voice while making ethical decisions in life. She stressed upon making knowledge a weapon and motivated girls to rise above physical appearances. Dr. Ominder Johal, Head, PG Department of Punjabi motivated the students with his self-written poetry. Students from various departments presented exhilarating poems, songs and dance performances. Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Coordinator NSS presented formal vote of thanks.
