International webinar on Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) among Children and Adults

Jalandhar, November 7, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G Department of Psychology conducted an International Webinar on the topic “Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) among Children and Adults”. 

The resource person was Dr. Feba, Clinical Psychologist and Head, Department of Psychiatry, American Mission Hospital, Kingdom of Bahrain. Dr. Feba gave a detailed explanation of the symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder among children and adults & also specified the prevalence rate of this disorder. She explained the three core symptoms of this disorder, that is, Inattention, Hyperactivity and Impulsivity. The various other symptoms which are usually overlooked by people were also explained by her. She discussed various case-studies with the help of which the students were able to understand better. It was explained that people having ADHD have social skills deficits and peer problems & the various important strategies through which people with ADHD can be dealt with were explained in detail to the students. 

The lecture was followed by online quiz which made the event more engrossing for the students. All the students actively participated in the discussion & all the queries of the students were answered eloquently by  Dr. Feba. 

Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that that such lectures are very useful for the students as they provide them with in-depth knowledge related to pertinent issues and topics. She lauded the efforts of the PG Department of Psychology for successfully organising the webinar.
