International Students from Amity University Haryana visited Earth Savior Foundation, Gurugram
Since its inception Amity University believes in imbibing altruism, Indian traditions for giving care and sharing for those vulnerable groups of our society such as elderly group and underprivileged. As a constant endeavor to instill the value systems in students at Amity University Haryana (AUH), we are consistently attempting to serve international students to be better moral human beings and be change agents for a better world. To create sensitivity and awareness among the international students for the up liftment of the under privileged kids and elderly, Amity University, Haryana organized visit to Earth savior Foundation, Gurugram on 29 Jan 2019. The Earth Saviours Foundation is an internationally recognized leading NGO, which was founded in 2008 by Ravi Kalra. The Foundation is dedicated to serve less priviledged people and is making every possible effort to protect the environment. On the occasion, taking pride in our international students,Honorable VC said “We are indeed proud to have several hundred international students from 30 countries that add to the vibrancy and diversity to our campus.” Prof. Gunjan M. Sanjeev, V.P, RBEF, Director, International Affairs, Amity University, Haryana who was also present, said “ Compassion has no caste, religion or nationality. Our international students demonstrated it so well today”. The students were accompanied by the Amity University team which included Dr. Arvind Birdie, Asst. Director, International Affairs, Mr.Deepak Dhariwal Faculty from ASCO and Mr. R. P Jayaswal Faculty from AMS. The students got sensitized when some seniors citizens shared their heart wrenching experiences and living conditions when they were outside Gurukul. Different life experiences which was enough to shake anyone was a glimpse of some truths of society which students felt was enough reason anyone to serve for the society. Sheku Marah (Afghanistan), Muhammad Abu Bakar (Congo), Mujib with ten other international students after visiting Earth Saviours Foundation shared their feelings and expressed their views, “It was heart touching and we are glad that we are able to see how good work people are doing and inspiring us to do in future.
