International Human Rights Day organised by holding Declamation Contest 

Chandigarh, December 22, 2022: The Office of the Dean International Students organized International Human Rights Day by holding a Declamation Contest today, at 2.15 p.m. This event would encourage proficiency in communication among the foreign students. 

The event was held in the Seminar Hall of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, Guru Teg Bahadur Building 1st Floor, Panjab University, Chandigarh.  Prof. Y.P. Verma, Registrar was the Chief Guest and Prof. Prashant Kumar, Associate Dean (International), University of Surry, UK was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Y.P. Verma in his speech laid special emphasis on following the core Indian traditions which including respect and adopting human rights not only for humans but for every creature in this world.  
Prof. Prashant Kumar in his address praised the university’s efforts for organizingsuch events from time to time for the foreign students.  Prof. Prashant Kumar underscored that human rights should be followed in spirit from the heart.  Prof. S.K.Kansal, Dean International Students expressed his gratification on holding this event by the students on International Human Rights Day and ensured more such events would be held in future. He also promised the students to resolve their issues on timely basis.

Prof. Rattan Singh, Prof. Sheena Pal and Dr. Namita Gupta were the judges for the Declamation Contest. Many international students of Panjab University from countries like South Sudan, Ethiopia, Botswana, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe participated in this event.
