International Day of Democracy celebrated in Doaba College

Jalandhar, September 19, 2023: Doaba College Jalandhar’s PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Jalandhar celebrated "International Day of Democracy", by organising a Poster Making Competition cum Exhibition. 

Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Jalandhar graced the occasion as Resource Person and Chief Guest. The dignitary was accorded a hearty welcome by Prof Gursimran Singh-Incharge DC Collegiate Sr Sec School, Dr Simran Sidhu faculty and students,  The theme of the event was “Empowering Next Generation”. Dr. Gagandeep Kaur- highlighted the functioning of District Legal Services, the various categories who can avail free legal services, compensation in case of violation of legal rights, POSCO act etc. She further motivated the students to spread awareness among their neighbors about the legal aid and insisted on following authentic news sources, refraining from fake news.

As per the judgement of Prof Sakshiand  Dr Opinder Singh posters of students viz Sukhraj Singh (BAJMC- Sem I), Navjot (BAJMC Sem III), Kanishka Sharma (BAJMC- Sem V) bagged First, Second and Third positions respectively. Posters made by Simarjeet Singh, Khushi, Kanchan of BAJMC (Sem I) bagged the Consolation position.
