Nauni (Himachal Pradesh), September 24, 2019: The 2nd International Conference on the theme ‘Recent Advances in Agricultural, Environmental and Applied Sciences for Global Development’ will be held at the Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni from 27-29th September.
The Agro-Environmental Developmental Society (AEDS) and the University are co-organizing the conference in association with Cairo University's Plant Pathology Research Institute and Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
The three-day event will see over 300 participants from 15 states of India and five countries including Spain, Egypt, Nepal and Bangladesh take part in the event. Agricultural horticulture and allied sciences will be discussed holistically during the conference to come up with significant outcomes for sustainable development of the society.
Eminent scientists from different State Agriculture Universities and ICAR institutes like Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research, Central Potato Research Institute, Indian Institute of Veterinary Research, Banaras Hindu University, Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture will be taking part in the conference and presenting their research. The conference will be the best amalgamation of eminent scientists, researchers, scholars and students who will share the latest developments in the relevant fields to promote sustainable development.
Several topics under the major themes like recent advances in agriculture and allied fields, natural resources management and sustainable hill farming for livelihood security, emerging issues in environmental management, recent advances in biological and allied sciences, and recent trends in pharmaceutical and applied sciences for sustainable development will be covered during the event. Dr JN Sharma, Chairman of the local coordinating committee and Dr HR Gautam, Co-Chairman informed that as the environment in the form of climate change is affecting agriculture, a special discussion will also be held on the issue. Over 50 students and faculty from the university will also be presenting their research during the conference.
