Noida, December 21, 2017: As Dubai emerges as the global leader in using smart technologies to improve services and infrastructure, Amity University Dubai, in association with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), organized a three day International Conference on “Infocom Technologies and Unmanned Systems (ICTUS)” in Dubai .
The Conference, first of its kind, attracted over 100 Professors, Academics, Researchers and students from around 30 countries of the world and provided them a common platform to discuss and deliberate upon various sub-themes of the Conference.
The main themes covered during the three day Conference included Free and Open Source Software, Natural Language Processing, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Experts Systems, Data Mining and Data Warehousing, Convergence Technologies, Human-Computer Interface, Mobile Computing, Advances on Computing Mechanisms, Software and Web Engineering.
During his speech, Ammar Al Malik- Managing Director of the Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource City said that Dubai has become the hub for innovation and enterprise and Information Communication Technology is at the heart of all the efforts to improve the quality of life. He said that focus on change necessitates more sustainable partnerships between the industry and academia and stressed the need to get local schools and young minds involved in the process. He added that Dubai Internet City, today, not only hosts all major Computer technology giants like Microsoft, Oracle, Google, CISCO and IBM but is providing a comprehensive ecosystem for disruptive companies like Hyper lube, Dubbizle, Souq.com and hundreds of startups that are defining the future of technology. He highlighted the role of dialogue and knowledge transfer for the benefit of all.
Prof. Sunil Kumar Khatri, Conference Chair and Director, Amity Institute of Information Technology, Amity University Noida, and India in his welcome speech focussed on trends and future directions in Artificial Intelligence, a matter of high priority towards the Public Policy initiative across the Globe, which also forms the Centennial 2070 objective of United Arab Emirates. He outlined that speakers and delegates from various countries including Japan, UK, USA, UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah), Germany, Russia, Australia, Canada, India, South Africa, Croatia, Argentina, China, Hong Kong, Oman, Denmark, Pakistan, Estonia, Jordan, Sofia, Peru, Botswana, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bahrain, Turkey, Mauritius, Bangladesh and Malaysia are attending the conference.
Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation, Amity University Noida, while welcoming the delegates, highlighted the R&D focus of Amity Universe with special reference to Science, Engineering & Technology and shared with delegates the developments and research work done by Amity Faculty and scholars.

During the Inaugural Function, two MOUs with CISCO and Emircomm were signed, which focused on Faculty Training, Certification Programs and establishing Centres of Excellence.
