‘International Childhood Cancer Month’ observed

Ludhiana, September 30, 2021: The month of September is observed as ‘International Childhood Cancer Month’ and in this regard, Department of Pediatrics under the guidance of Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni (Professor & Head of Pediatrics in DMCH) conducted drawing activity competition contest for cancer affected children. Around 20 children participated in this activity and made different creative images with their impressionable mind.  
Dr Shruti Kakkar, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and In-charge of Pediatrics Oncology Unit at DMCH a cancer diagnosis is upsetting at any age, but especially so when the patient is a child. Pediatric Oncology Unit in DMCH is fully equipped to diagnose early detection of symptoms in curing the problem of cancer among children and helping them in leading a healthy life, said Dr Shruti.
Secretary Prem Kumar Gupta lauded the efforts of Department of Pediatrics in conducting an activity.
