Interactive session at Mulk Raj Anand Auditorium, Panjab University

Chandigarh, January 23, 2023: The Department of English and Cultural Studies and the office of Dean, International Students, Panjab University in collaboration with The United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF) hosted an interactive session today at the Mulk Raj Anand Auditorium, Arts Block-I, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Prof. Akshaya Kumar, Chairperson, Department of English & Cultural Studies, Prof. S.K. Kansal, Dean, International Students and Prof. Deepti Gupta, Deptt. Of English were also in attendance.
 
The students and scholars were made aware of The Fulbright Program which in collaboration with universities, schools, bi-national Fulbright Commissions, government agencies, non-governmental organizations and private sector agencies across the country awards students, scholars, teachers and professionals whose achievements and potential make them outstanding representatives of their societies merit-based grants to study and/or do research in a variety of academic fields and disciplines.

Dr. Gayatri Singhal, Indian Program Manager at the Fullbright Commission in India, New Delhi and Dr. Sudarshan Das, Senior Program Manager at the USIEF- Fullbright Commission in India interacted with the students and elaborated on various activities of the USIEF. Grant offerings and various scholarship plans in various fields of study for academia and scholars at various levels of research and profession were extensively discussed. The relevance of such scholarships for USA- India bilateral ties was also discussed.  The seminar saw active participation from scholars and faculty from various departments.
