Inter College Sports Meet and Youth Festival at Nauni varsity from May 1

The Annual Inter College Sports and Games Meet and Youth Festival will be held at the Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni from 1-4 May, 2019. The four-day event will see the participation of students from all the three constituent colleges of the University- College of Horticulture and College of Forestry from the main campus and College of Horticulture and Forestry, Neri, Hamirpur.

The sports meet will consist of both track and field events. In the track events, boys and girls from the three colleges will participate in 100, 200, 400 and 800, 1500, 3000, 10000 meters races. Team events like 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meters relay races will also be held during the meet. Shotput, Javelin, Discus throw, long jump, high jump and triple jump will make the field events. In addition, teams will compete in Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Badminton and Table tennis.

The event will also see cultural performances during the youth festival. The events for the youth festival have been divided into five categories- Music, Dance, Literary, Theatre and Fine Arts. Students will showcase their skills in events like group dance and song, elocution, debate and extempore, one-act play, skit, mime, mono acting, poster and rangoli making etc.

“The Sports Meet and the Youth Festival is being organized with the purpose of providing opportunities for overall personality development of our students so that they can also excel in extracurricular activities along with studies,” said Dr Kulwant Rai Sharma, Students' Welfare Officer.
