Integrated Command and Control Centre “Chakshu Chakra” Inaugurated in Dharamshala
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated the Integrated Command, Control & Crime Response Centre “Chakshu Chakra” for the Smart City Dharamshala via video conferencing from Dehra Gopipur . The state-of-the-art centre, developed under the Smart City Mission, is housed at the Superintendent of Police Office, Dharamshala.

Dharamshala, June 4, 2025: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated the Integrated Command, Control & Crime Response Centre “Chakshu Chakra” for the Smart City Dharamshala via video conferencing from Dehra Gopipur . The state-of-the-art centre, developed under the Smart City Mission, is housed at the Superintendent of Police Office, Dharamshala.
Briefing the Chief Minister during the virtual inauguration, Superintendent of Police Kangra, Shalini Agnihotri, highlighted the key features of the project. A total of 229 CCTV cameras have been strategically installed at 89 vital locations across the city. Of these, seven locations are equipped with specialized cameras under the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) to enhance traffic control and ensure public safety.
Developed at a cost of ₹2.72 crore, the ICCC will serve as a centralized hub for urban surveillance, coordination, and rapid response. It is expected to significantly bolster urban governance, facilitate real-time monitoring, and improve the efficiency of public service delivery. In the future, all surveillance systems across Kangra district will be integrated with this central server, enabling seamless and comprehensive monitoring.
The initiative reflects the state government's commitment to leveraging technology for smarter, safer, and more responsive urban management. "Chakshu Chakra" is poised to be a transformative step toward making Dharamshala a more secure, organized, and modern urban center.
The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including Abhishek Dullar, Inspector General of Police, Northern Range Dharamshala; Khushal Sharma, Commandant 2nd IRBn; Zafar Iqbal, Managing Director, Smart City and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Dharamshala; former Deputy Mayor Devinder Singh Jaggi; Mayor Neenu Sharma; senior police officials; and representatives from the executing agency, Chamunda Corporation, including MDs Milan Dutt and Priyank Dutt.
