Inspector Suresh Kumar of Commissionerate Ludhiana Honoured with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services

Ludhiana, August 14, 2025: Inspector Suresh Kumar of Commissionerate Police, Ludhiana, presently working in Counter Intelligence, Punjab has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service on the occasion of Independence Day 2025 in recognition of his outstanding and unblemished service spanning over 36 years. Only two police officers from Punjab, Inspector Suresh and ADGP PAP Farooqui, have received this prestigious honour during this Independence Day-2025.
Inspector Kumar has a remarkable career record in law enforcement, earning numerous honours, including the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2016, and the Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty in 2023. He has also decorated 4 times with Commendation Discs of Director General of Police in 2010, 2017, 2022, 2023, secured more than 200 Commendation Certificates, and 10 Appreciation letters from Senior Police Officers. He stood All-Round First in Basic Training amongst 600 Recruits of his batch at Jahan-khelan in 1990. In his college days was crowned Best Athlete of the college in 1987.
Throughout his illustrious career, Inspector Suresh has demonstrated exceptional courage, commitment, unwavering dedication to duty, and professionalism in cracking a number of heinous crimes, including murders, and busting of major gangs. Beside other notable cases, Inspector Kumar played a pivotal role in solving Rs.8.49 Crore, biggest dacoity of Punjab, at the office of CMS, a cash management Firm.
Alongside his distinguished policing career, he has contributed to environmental conversation by actively planting trees and promoting greenery.
