Inquiry ordered into incident of teacher involved into committing obscene activity with students at Jaiton

Chandigarh, February 8, 2015: The Education Department has taken a serious note of the media reports in which it was reported that a teacher was involved into committing obscene activity with the students of the Government Elementary School Ramuwala near Jaiton (Faridkot). Considering the seriousness of the case Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab marked departmental inquiry under the supervision of Harbans Singh Sandhu, Circle Education Officer, Faridkot Division. Dr.Cheema also urged the public that they should not take the law into their hand and such type of cases would be dealt seriously as per the law of the land.

Disclosing this here today in a press communiqué Dr. Cheema said that Harbans Singh Sandhu, Circle Education Officer, Faridkot Division appointed Inquiry officers and seeks complete report within 10 days. He also directed DPI (Secondary Education) Balbir Singh Dhol to personally look after this case. Dr. Cheema said that strict action would be taken if teacher is found guilty.
