Innocent Hearts Group Empowers Young Minds to Go Green and Observe Every Day as World Environment Day

Jalandhar, June 5, 2025: Under Disha, an  initiative run by the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, Innocent Hearts Group celebrated World Environment Day with a  purpose, passion, and a unified commitment to sustainable living. This year’s theme, “End Plastic Pollution: Achieving Sustainable Development Goals,” inspired a celebration across all branches of Innocent Hearts Schools — Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Cantt.-Jandiala Road, and Kapurthala Road — as well as  Innocent Hearts College of Education and Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions.
At  IH College of Education , The Environmental Club, in collaboration with the NSS Unit, led impactful eco-initiatives on the college campuses: E-Waste Recycle Drive educated students on the need for responsible electronic waste disposal.At Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions,
Best Out of Plastic Waste showcased students’ creativity through repurposed plastic items, emphasizing the 3Rs — Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Green Dress Code Day unified the campus in a visual pledge for nature. No Plastic Campus Day was observed to promote plastic-free practices and eco-friendly alternatives. School-Level Online Initiatives: Students from Grades II to V participated enthusiastically in hands-on, virtual activities that promoted environmental awareness and sustainability: Grade V: Created Mini Compost Jars to understand biodegradable waste management. Grade IV: Engaged in Newspaper Bag Making to encourage reuse of materials. Grade II: Made Bottle Planters to promote green spaces using recycled plastic.Students submitted photos and videos of their eco-friendly creations, affirming their commitment to the 3 Rs.   Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry, Director CSR of Innocent Hearts appreciated the wholehearted participation of students across campuses. “At Innocent Hearts, we believe that small actions can lead to big change. Today’s students are tomorrow’s planet protectors,”  Innocent Hearts Group has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to nurturing a generation that is not only academically strong but also environmentally responsible and socially aware.
