Innocent Hearts Celebrates World Earth Day with Enthusiasm and Eco-Friendly Activities
Under Disha: an initiative run and managed by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, Eco Club of all five campuses of Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, Loharan, Kapurthala Road, Noorpur Road, and Cantt.-Jandiala Road celebrated World Earth Day with great zeal and awareness.
Jalandhar, April 22, 2206: Under Disha: an initiative run and managed by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, Eco Club of all five campuses of Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, Loharan, Kapurthala Road, Noorpur Road, and Cantt.-Jandiala Road celebrated World Earth Day with great zeal and awareness.
The celebration was based on the theme “Make Everyday Earth Day” (SDG-13) and witnessed active participation from students across all grades. The youngest learners, Grade I students participated in a 'Plant a Seed' activity, where they planted seeds in pots and learned about plant growth and responsibility towards nature. They also took part in the' Litter Less' activity, promoting cleanliness and proper waste management. Grade II students showcased creativity through the 'Trash to Treasure' activity by making useful items from waste materials, encouraging recycling and teamwork. Students of Grades III–IV engaged in Trash to Treasure/Paper Bag Making, learning the importance of recycling, upcycling, and sustainability.
Grade V students carried out a' Seed Sowing Activity', understanding the importance of plants and developing a sense of environmental responsibility. Senior students, Grades VI–X took a Sustainable Pledge, promising to adopt eco-friendly habits such as reducing waste, saving water, and protecting nature.
Grades VI and VII also participated in an Eco-friendly Craft Challenge, where they created innovative items using recyclable materials. A Clean-up Drive was conducted by Grade VIII students in the school campus and surrounding areas under the FIT India Movement, spreading awareness about cleanliness. Grades IX–X organized a “Leafy Legacy” Plantation Drive, planting saplings and promoting awareness about climate action and biodiversity. The celebration successfully instilled values of environmental conservation, sustainability, and responsibility among students. Dr Palak Gupta Bowry, Director CSR mentioned that through these meaningful activities, Innocent Hearts reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious citizens.
