Inner Wheel Club of Jalandhar Undertakes Community Service Projects Focusing on Education, Healthcare and Women Empowerment

Jalandhar, September 5, 2026: The Inner Wheel Club of Jalandhar carried out a series of meaningful community service projects during the past two weeks, focusing on education, healthcare, women empowerment, environmental conservation and support for the underprivileged.

On Teachers’ Day, as a gesture of gratitude towards teachers, a Card-Painting Competition was organised at R.K.M. Geeta Mandir Senior Secondary School, in which 25 students participated. The winners Abhay Raj, Saras and Ruchi were presented trophies, certificates and prizes by the Club. A Holistic Health Awareness Session was also conducted at the school by Special Educator Puja Arora, who addressed the students on social skills, mental health, self-awareness and personal confidence.

As part of its welfare activities, the Club provided two months ration to the girls residing at Saraswati Sindhu Nyas School. In another initiative for women empowerment, a sewing machine was donated to a young girl to help her become financially independent and earn a livelihood. A mixer grinder and hand juicer were gifted to a maid’s daughter on her wedding. A wheelchair was also donated to a young boy with mobility difficulties, helping him manage his daily activities with greater ease.

To support school facilities, the Club donated 50 steel glasses, 50 plates , two pressure cookers for mid-day meals and 50 pair of shoes to a Government Senior Secondary School . At Care for Autism School, 50 fruit and medicinal plants were planted. A carpet was donated to Learning Hub Society Evening School for children’s play and other activities.

Club members also undertook a cleanliness drive at the park in Rail Vihar Colony, with the assistance of gardeners and helpers, contributing towards a cleaner and healthier environment.

During Breastfeeding Week, an awareness programme was conducted for young mothers. They were provided calcium, iron and protein supplements along with fruits, promoting better maternal and child health.

These initiatives reflect the Inner Wheel Club of Jalandhar’s continued commitment to community welfare, compassion and social responsibility, touching lives through service and turning every effort into a meaningful step towards a better society.
