Inefficient, insensitive Amarinder has made Punjab victim of pandemic: Chugh

Chandigarh: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today condemned the Amarinder Singh government for its failure to contain the pandemic in Punjab and making the state the worst-affected in the country.

In a statement, Chugh said Chief Minister Amarinder Singh should give up complacency and try helping people in this grave crisis generated by Covid. He said the vaccination drive had completely failed to deliver even as the Centre had provided more than 19 lakh doses of which just six lakhs doses had been used.

Chugh said many central schemes meant for people's welfare had floundered in Punjab because of inefficient and insensitive governance.

"It is an alarming situation in the state for which the chief minister is completely responsible", he said and demanded that the chief minister should give up his seven-star culture.

Chugh took exception to the fact that the government was now being run not by the chief minister but by his advisers. "It is so strange that the senior adviser has been holding meetings with bureaucrats and Congress MLAs while the chief minister’s office had been rendered completely helpless”, Chugh added.
