Ludhiana, December 13, 2025: Punjab Industry and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora highlighted the pivotal role of Chartered Accountants (CAs) in building a strong national economy and advocated the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cutting-edge Information Technology tools to further enhance financial integrity and efficiency.

Presiding over the two-day National Conference for Chartered Accountants organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in Ludhiana, Arora emphasised that Chartered Accountants are indispensable whenever the government formulates policies or programmes for the people. He added that the CAs are required for all financial assessments to ensure that the benefits of these initiatives reach the intended beneficiaries. He added that CAs play a crucial role at every stage of policy-making, whether in budgeting, committee work, or day-to-day governance.

The Minister advised Chartered Accountants to shift towards storing client data on secure cloud platforms rather than relying on physical storage devices like hard disks, which are vulnerable to theft or damage. He shared that his Industry and Power departments regularly engage the services of Chartered Accountants to refine policies and programmes.

Arora also spoke about the recent high-profile visit to Japan and South Korea, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, during which the delegation signed MoUs worth multiple crores with leading companies.

Addressing young Chartered Accountants, he encouraged them to learn the Japanese language, noting abundant employment opportunities in Japan for professionals fluent in the language.

The Minister commended the organisation of the National Conference in Ludhiana and expressed hope that such events would generate greater awareness about the CA profession, helping to improve the current pass percentage of 19% in the coming years.
