Jalandhar, Sep 15, 2025: An industrial visit to Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, was organized by the PG Department of Computer Science & IT of  Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, where 20 students of  Journalism and Mass Communication attended a seminar on "AI In journalism".
The seminar  was  organized by Pushpa Gujral Science City and featured a renowned expert Daljit Ami, Director Educational Multimedia Research Centre, Punjabi University Patiala. Around 25 students from the BAJMC 1st and 3rd semesters participated in the seminar, which provided valuable insights into the impact of AI on the Journalism industry. 
The speaker, Diljit Ami, delivered an engaging and informative presentation covering topics such as automated content generation, data analysis, and the future of news reporting. The students found the seminar highly informative, gaining a deeper understanding of how AI is transforming the field of journalism. The interactive session with the expert allowed them to clarify their doubts and explore the potential applications of AI in media.
During their visit, the students also had the opportunity to watch a special show on Science and Technology at Science City, which further enhanced their knowledge and curiosity. The visit proved to be an enriching experience, combining theoretical knowledge with practical exposure to cutting-edge technologies.
College Principal, Dr. Suman Chopra, in her message, appreciated the Department for this great effort and encouraged the students to get maximum benefit from this visit.
HOD, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, said that such activities are often organized by the Department to meet the curriculum. He added that this was a necessary step toward learning the practical aspects of Journalism and Media.
Prof. Rajat Kaur and Prof. Vaishali Gupta accompanied the students during this visit.
