Industrial visit organized for students of MTM

Jalandhar, December 29,2021: The students of Master in Tourism & Management (MTM) Ist Semester of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar visited a travel agency and a Hotel as part of their industrial visit. Seeing off the students for the tour, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra wished the students all the best and asked them to make the most of this tour. He said that the objective behind this visit was to familiarize them about travel trade sector and to give them first hand practical knowledge about the working of a travel agency and a hotel. He also said that there is immense potential in the field of tourism. Students should study this area with special attention and interest. He encouraged the students of Tourism Management to make special achievements in this field by studying hard and diligently. First, the students visited M.R. Travels, Jalandhar, where they were briefed about the services of the company by Mr. Joshua Joy, representing M.R. Travels. He introduced the on-line ticketing procedure to the students. Apart from that the students were informed about latest tourism packages, and about Visa procedures. An interactive session with the staff was also held during the visit. After that, the students visited Day’s Hotel, Jalandhar, where they were welcomed by the staff of the hotel. First, the students visited Front office, bell desk and business center situated in the Lobby of the hotel, followed by Executive room, Restaurant, Conference room, Banquet and Gymnasium. The students were taken for a complete round of the property. Mr. Sudhir and Mr. Vijay guided the students during the visit and a question answer session was also held during the visit. The tour was accompanied by Prof. Vineet Kumar Gupta, Department of Tourism Management.
