Indoor patients’ facility shall be restored in Zonal Hospital Dharamshala: MLA

Dharamshala: MLA of Legislative Assembly Area Dharamshala, Mr. Vishal Nahria met Additional Secretary (Health) Mr. RD Dhiman in Shimla and discussed about starting IPD (indoor patient) facilities at Regional Hospital Dharamshala soon. This facility was closed because of the on spread of Covid-19 early this year to accommodate covid-19 patients in this institution. Its OPD has been re started a few days ago.
Nahria told that there was a discussion on installation of oxygen pipe line in Kovid Center Dharamshala. After fitting of oxygen pipe line in Dharamshala Hospital, patients will not have to carry a cylinder. MLA Mr. Vishal Naihari  discussed  al aspects of the smooth running of Kovid Center, OPD, IPD and Emergency Services at the Zonal  Hospital Dharamshala with Additional Secretary (Health) Mr. RD Dhiman .and MLA Mr. Vishal Naharia  said that if a Kovid Center is tobe carried on  in Dharamshala, then the measures should be taken the general health services in the hospital should not be closed for general public.
Nahria said, “Because, the there is only zonal  hospital in the district headquarters in  Dharamshala, where almost all government health services are delivered to the people. if OPD, IPD and emergency services are closed here due to the  creation of Kovid Center, then the patients will have to go to Kangra, which could be dangerous for the serious patients . So it is necessary to continue  all these services in Dharamshala  ,i  told the Additional Secretary.”
MLA said that he has been assured by the authorities that though Covid Center in the Regional Hospital Dharamshala in functioning, still  people will also get the facility of IPD. “For this, 50 beds will be installed in the initial round. Apart from this, Ayurvedic Hospital Dharamshala will also be used for health services. The gate of Covid Center and OPD are separate in Dharamshala Hospital, therefore, OPD will not  be affected by Covid Center . Work to facilitate IPD has begun.”
He said that earlier, he gave details about the Zonal hospital Dharamshala to Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, where the CM has promised that  the infrastructure along with the appointment of doctors will also be strengthened in Dharamshala.
