India’s Economic Freedom is the Key to Becoming a Developed Nation by 2047, says Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta

Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta Ltd., has asserted that “economic freedom is the single most important factor that will decide whether India transforms into a developed nation by 2047.”

Calling India “a land of entrepreneurs,” he urged for policies and opportunities that give innovators the freedom to channel their energy and vision into driving the country’s growth.

He highlighted that India’s progress depends on breaking barriers to education for youth, expanding financial independence for women, and ensuring nutrition and values for every child to strengthen the nation’s foundation.

Agarwal also emphasized the need to responsibly harness India’s abundant natural resources and unlock its potential in defense and electronics manufacturing, sectors he said can propel the country to global leadership.

“By unleashing these strengths, India will not only achieve self-reliance but also emerge as a global hub of innovation and resilience,” he noted. Concluding on an optimistic note, he added: “With collective determination, India will achieve its goal of becoming one of the strongest and most prosperous nations by 2047.”
