India’s cumulative exports grew by 4.84% during April–October 2025, despite global headwinds: PHDCCI
India’s overall exports (merchandise and services) increased by 4.84%, from USD 491.80 during April–October 2024 to 496.11 USD billion during April–October 2025, driven primarily by services exports. The services exports grew strong at 9.75%, from USD 216.45 during April–October 2024 to USD 237.55 during April–October 2025, said Mr. Rajeev Juneja, President, PHDCCI, in a press statement issued here today.
New Delhi, November 17, 2025: India’s overall exports (merchandise and services) increased by 4.84%, from USD 491.80 during April–October 2024 to 496.11 USD billion during April–October 2025, driven primarily by services exports. The services exports grew strong at 9.75%, from USD 216.45 during April–October 2024 to USD 237.55 during April–October 2025, said Mr. Rajeev Juneja, President, PHDCCI, in a press statement issued here today.
While merchandise exports recorded a marginal increase of 0.63%, to USD 254.25 during April–October 2025 from USD 252.66 during the same period of the previous year. This is because of an increase in cumulative non-petroleum exports during April–October 2024 from USD 211.60 to USD 219.90 in April–October 2025, he said.
On the import side, cumulative merchandise imports grew at a higher rate than services imports during April–October 2025, as compared with April–October 2024, resulting in a cumulative merchandise trade deficit and a services trade surplus during April–October 2025, said Mr.Juneja.
The merchandise exports in October 2025 registered a negative growth of -11.8% from October 2024, while imports grew by 16.6%, resulting in a trade deficit of USD (-) 41.68. While services exports showed a robust growth of double-digit (11.94%) and imports grew only by 2.38%, registering a healthy trade surplus of USD 56.16, he said.
We expect steady growth in exports despite global uncertainties, given the recent government support of Rs 45,026 crores towards Export Promotion Mission and Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters, said Dr Ranjeet Mehta, CEO & Secretary General, PHDCCI.
