Ferozepur, February 28, 2022: The Indian students studying at various universities are being targeted by the Ukrainian citizens. Enraged due to Indian government’s stand over Ukraine and Russia war, not only the civilians but Ukrainian army personnel are also allegedly destroying the belongings of the Indian students including their passports.

Saumya (17), a student of MBBS first year at Kyiv Medical University said that Indian students are going through hell right now. In a telephonic conversation, Saumya told her parents Nitin Kumar and Jyoti, residents of city area, that they she feels scared due to continue bombing and firing.
Saumya’s mother Jyoti said there are more than 10,000 students are struck at Kyiv. “I never saw my daughter so scared. She is a brave girl but yesterday night while talking to her,  I realized that her voice was trembling. She told me that a group of students will leave for Hungry border, situated around 800 kms away from Kyiv, on foot”, she said.
“Not only the Ukraine citizens but their army is also against the Indian community because they believe that India did not help their country. Even the Indian Embassy has been tweeting regularly, advising those stuck in Kyiv to proceed for railway stations where there were special trains for evacuees”, said Jyoti.
Saumya is not the only student belonging to this border area who is stuck at Ukraine. There are several others including Sakshi, Lukas Bhatti (both resident of city area), Ruchika Sharma and Prakirti Rajput (both resident of cantonment area), Lovepreet Singh and Love Inder Singh (both resident of Village Malsian Kalan in Zira) and all of them are going through the same ordeal.
All family members of these students  have appealed to the Government to make arrangements for safe and early airlifting of students stuck up in Ukraine by arranging special flights through alternate evacuation routes as Ukraine has closed its airspace.
