Jalandhar: National level ‘Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association (IPGA)’ has felicitated Pharmacists alumni of LPU as CORONA Pandemic Warriors. In a nationwide endeavour, among 5 pharmacists selected from the Punjab State for prestigious felicitation four warriors are LPU’s alumni. In this nation wide endeavour, nominations were asked from each state and the selected pharmacists are uniquely honoured with a white coat- the symbol of selfless service.

In fact, COVID-19 has brought forward a huge army of the unsung heroes including doctors, nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, entrepreneurs and many more that directly or indirectly did their efforts to support people during this CORONA pandemic.
Congratulating the honour-recipients, President of IPGA Dr Atul Nasa shared: “Being on the forefront in ensuring availability of effective medicines 24 hours to the needy ones, pharmacists face huge risks while battling the Pandemic. Thus, having a mission to improve the professional status of pharmacy graduates, IPGA decided to honour such devoted pharma warriors.” Dr Nasa is also Head of Office, Controlling Authority, Drugs Control Department (Delhi).

The selected pharmacists from Punjab include two Drug Inspectors of Jalandhar Anupama Kalia and Amarjit Singh; Entreprenuer Jaswinder Singh of Satnam Surgicals; Ashish Manocha of Manocha Medical Hall and Sukhmeet from Sukhmeet Medicos (Wholesale Chemists & Druggists).

LPU Alumni Association at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences of LPU (LFAMS) also added to this cause. Sr Dean at LPU and Head LFAMS Dr Monica Gulati further inspired the pharmacy students to be always eager to help the society in such an applauding manner. LFAMS is recognized internationally in having many novel patents to its credit for unique treatments.
