Bengaluru, November 11, 2019: Indian Music Experience is presenting “Credo of a Dancer: An in-depth exhibition on the life and art of T.alasaraswati”. The exhibition, featuring photographs and press clippings, along with costumes, ornaments and other personal collectibles of the legendary Bharatanatyam dancer, will be inaugurated on the 16th of November and will be on display for the public at the IME until the 1st of December, from 10am to 6pm on all days of the week, except Mondays.

Credo of a Dancer celebrates the legacy of T Balasaraswati. It provides in-depth insights into her life in the socio-economic context of her time, all of which shaped her artistic expression. It is an immersive experience that deconstructs the technique and mystique behind one of India’s greatest dancers to make it accessible to all. Credo of a Dancer has been designed as a moving exhibition. It has been on view at 3 different venues in Chennai and Singapore since its launch in January 2019.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on November 16th by eminent dance guru, Lalitha Srinivasan, and IAS officer KM Janaki. The inauguration will be followed by a dance performance by Aniruddha Knight, grandson of Balasaraswati. On the 17th of November, a panel discussion and a series of short performances in connection with the exhibition, will presented by the World Dance Alliance, Karnataka Chapter. The panel discussion will be chaired by dance scholar Nandini Ramani, and will feature dance gurus Veena Murthy Vijay and Kiran Subramanyam along with dance critic, Jyothi Raghuram. The performances will be presented by eminent dancers Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Praveen Kumar, Shama Krishna and Anuradha Vikranth.
