Mumbai, September 1, 2026: Sony PAL, one of India’s most loved Free-to-Air (FTA) entertainment channels, continues to strengthen its promise of bringing the best talent, finest reality shows and iconic stories to audiences across the country. Adding another landmark title to its compelling non-fiction offering, Sony PAL is set to bring one of India’s most celebrated singing reality shows, with Indian Idol Season 16 premiering on the channel on September 7. The launch marks the show’s first telecast on an FTA platform and adds a landmark non-fiction property to Sony PAL’s prime-time line-up.

Themed ‘Yaadon Ki Playlist’, the 82-episode season brings together 18 talented singers from across the country, celebrating songs that have shaped memories across generations. From stirring performances to deeply personal journeys, Indian Idol 16 combines music, nostalgia and emotion in a format that has remained a favourite with Indian families.

Bringing their expertise, experience and distinctive personalities to the judging panel are three celebrated names from the Indian music industry - Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Badshah, with Aditya Narayan returning as the host.

While Vishal Dadlani the celebrated music composer brings his sharp eye for vocal excellence and stage presence joined by Badshah, one of India’s leading pop icons and rappers as he adds invaluable insight and deep music expertise to the panel.
