Indian Army, NDRF along with administration, villagers strengthen existing Dhussi Bandh in Sasrali colony- Hardeep Singh Mundian and Himanshu Jain

Ludhiana, September 4, 2025: The district administration, along with the Indian Army, NDRF and hundreds of villagers are continuously working to strengthen the embankment of river so as to avert any breach in the Bandh.
Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, conducted an on-site inspection of the Dhussi Bandh to assess its condition and address concerns about potential flooding.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, they ordered an ample quantity of stone boulders, sand, soil, and iron mesh, alongside JCBs and Poclains, deployed to ensure rapid strengthening of the Bandh.
While no breach has been reported in the Dhussi Bandh, Ludhiana, the high velocity of river water is necessitating proactive measures to safeguard the area. They added that the Indian Army, NDRF along with the teams of administration and villagers are engaged in strengthening of Dhussi Bandh.
The situation is being closely monitored, and additional resources will be mobilized as needed to ensure the stability of the Bandh.
Cabinet Minister Mundian and Deputy Commissioner Jain also appealed to the people to beware of rumour mongers and rely upon the real-time information being shared by the administration. Teams are working here round the clock and emphasized the administration’s commitment to the safety and well-being of residents, assuring that all necessary steps are being taken to mitigate risks. They also lauded the services being offered by the villagers at the spot. The residents of the Sasrali colony have also been put on alert.
Later, the Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma also reached there and inspected the strengthening work of Dhussi Bandh.
