India is also increasingly focusing on boosting the export of its products.
To strengthen trade in both exports and imports, India and the United States of America (USA) have recently forged a significant trade deal. The efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have paved the way for this historic agreement. Under the deal, the additional 25% tariff previously imposed as a penalty on Indian goods, including crude oil imports from Russia, has been waived. Following the implementation of this agreement, the existing tariff by the U.S. will be reduced to 18%. This move has been welcomed by industrialists, as it is expected to boost Indian exports while also facilitating the import of various goods from the U.S.
With a population exceeding 1.4 billion, India’s domestic consumption of goods is rapidly growing. The coming years are likely to witness healthy competition in a wide range of consumer products. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is emphasizing the importance of Make in India initiatives, urging Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to prioritize the quality of their products to remain competitive in the international market.
The Indo-US trade deal is expected to yield significant positive results. Bilateral trade between the two nations is set to expand, providing a strong foundation for economic growth and collaboration in the future.
