Chandigarh, October 21, 2025: The Department of Posts has launched a special drive from 16th October 2025 for two months to facilitate the updation of mobile numbers and email IDs across all active Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) policies.

India Post urges all PLI and RPLI policyholders to update their mobile numbers and email IDs, as maintaining current contact information is crucial for timely policy-related communication and for availing the full range of digital services. A valid mobile number and email ID are necessary to log in and manage policies through the official PLI customer portal.

Updating mobile numbers and email IDs will enable policyholders to receive policy e-statements, premium due notifications, secure online premium payment alerts, and other important updates directly through email and SMS.

To update mobile numbers and email IDs: Policyholders can visit their nearest departmental or branch post office with their policy number and a valid identification proof. Upon successful updation, a confirmation SMS or email will be sent to the registered contact details.

To deposit premium online: Visit https://pli.indiapost.gov.in. Click on “Customer Login” and register using your updated mobile number or email ID. Then select the “Premium Payment” option and follow the on-screen instructions. Premiums can be paid using UPI, debit card, net banking, or other accepted digital payment options.

PLI/RPLI policyholders are encouraged to update their contact details at the nearest post office to ensure seamless access to the PLI Customer Portal and to enjoy all available online services. The initiative supports India Post’s commitment to strengthen the digital economy by promoting cashless transactions at postal counters.

The Department of Posts continues to take proactive steps to enhance the quality of its services and ensure customer satisfaction.
