India Ke Mast Kalandar – Mika Singh (Judge)

Q: How does it feel to be a part of India ke Mast Kalandar? Mika: It feels very nice. It is a new concept, a new team. I am also judging something like this for the first time. Till now, I have judged comedy shows or music related reality shows. It is a different show. It has a good concept. Q: You have judged many shows in the past. How different is this show from the others? Mika: It is very different. There is not just singing in this. There are all sorts of talent. It will have comedy and dance as well. There will be some atrangi deeds too. I am excited, myself, to figure out what is going to happen. I was on a break for 1-1 ½ years because couple of years back, I was doing many of these shows. So, I am returning after almost 1 and a half years. Q: Is there any specific reason why you chose this show? Mika: See, I always do new and different kind of shows. I guess, I want to venture into things that have a new kind of mission and is new for me. So, I am sure people will like it. Q: What are the kind of audiences that the audiences can look for in the show? Mika: I have seen 4-5 people till now and they are quite different. I have seen a group of boys who wear heels and dance. I have never seen that before, except Arjun Kapoor in a song. Q: What do you think will be your challenges as the judge? Mika: I will understand the challenges only after watching the show. There are many different contestants. It will be difficult to judge because earlier, there was only one kind of talent that used to come, but here, there will be many and of varied age groups. We will have to wait and watch. Q: Since this show focuses on atrangi talents, do you have any such talents yourself? Mika: I think an artist should have an X-factor. Many artists only sing. You will see Shah Rukh and Salman having that X-factor. It does not matter whether their movies come or not. I think, that is important, and it is only then that a person can go a long way. I have quite a few qualities as well. I am a singer and a dancer. I think, as a singer, there are few who would take up such shows to judge. Q: You have been part of mainly serious talent shows. This is like a comedy talent show that you are doing for the first time. Mika: No, I have done comedy talent shows previously. Till now, whatever comedy shows have been made, it is always me who has been a judge. Secondly, I have done quite a few singing shows too, but this one is slightly different. Q: So why did you choose this show? Mika: I enjoy comedy. I think it is a noble act to make someone laugh. However, it is not just about laughing. There are many hidden talents that you will see, that have not been seen before. Q: Right now, we see you on television a lot, so is television your current favourite or is Bollywood still your love? Mika: Definitely. It is because of Bollywood that I am here. In the future, I will be moving towards movie production and becoming a producer. So, I want to take new talent ahead - singers and actors. I have a company ‘Music and Sound’ for which I have signed many singers until now. I will sign some comedians too and launch them.
